Q: What is flatter than the Mallee? A: A dead car battery. Today was an example of the Bust side of the Broome or Bust equation. Ready to hook up, but our car wouldn't start. Anyhow it all ended well. Everyone was very helpful. The RACV mechanic who travelled 30km from Charlton to jumpstart the car and Mildura Toyota who were able to replace the battery today. The RACV person said that it was 90% likely that the car would start if we stopped, but we didn't want to take that chance so we drove straight through from Wycheproof to Mildura. Thus we didn't stop at Sea Lake, a lovely town that sells beautiful Lake Tyrell salt. Leigh was very patient about the hold up, especially considering it was our first full day together. Tomorrow, we are going to the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens just over the border in New South Wales.

ReplyDeletePerhaps your title should be renamed to Broome here we come. Bust is a bit ominous.
