Monday 15 July: Monkey Mia - Dolphin Paradise
It was a travel day from Geraldton to Monkey Mia. We once thought 430km a long distance, but now it’s just a stroll up Highway 1.
An early morning walk before leaving Geraldton treated us to an osprey.

Chops The Beagle was thrilled to learn that the HMS Beagle had surveyed the treacherous reefs off the Geraldton coast in 1840. The lighthouse was eventually erected in 1874. |

The best was saved for last. On our first walk on the beach at Monkey Mia some dolphins were having a lazy swim 5 metres from the shore.

Wow fun filled day of travelling with something for everyone. Loved the dolphins too - great photo!
REPLY Good to see the tshirts have been unpacked. Wow you are not far from Broome now! Enjoy those beautiful dolphins
REPLYLovely sights! You are seasoned long distance journey people now. And great to know that essential life saving infrastructure took 34 years to build back in 1840, just like today!
