Thursday 20 June: Honey, They Took The Honey

Today we are on the lands of  the First Peoples of the River Murray and Mallee Region - the Ngaiawang, Ngawait, Nganguruku, Erawirung, Ngintait, Ngaralte & Ngarkat Peoples.

We drive up to Fruit and Vegetable Quarantine over the SA Border. Who knew honey had to binned. Just bought from Red Cliffs, too!!!

Apart from saying goodbye to our honey etc, we also bid farewell to Mary’s apple cake as we ate the last slices upon arrival at Lake Bonney Caravan Park, Barmera.

This afternoon we walked along the shore and spotted lots of cormorants, pelicans, magpies, herons and galahs.

We were also lucky enough to catch a solstice sunset over the lake.

Tomorrow will be a day of walking and art.

  1. When we crossed the border Adam ate about 5 mandarins so we didn’t have to bin them
